Alana and Amadou

I first met Amadou back in 2009 in The Gambia while on a weeks Holiday with Family.
.
He was the first one to notice me and when I turned around and saw him I knew that was it.
.
That week was the best week of my life, we share a lot of laughs and I met his family. In the beginning all my family were telling me it would not work and it would be a holiday romance. Me and Amadou have proved them wrong and we are still together 5 years later and we are not yet marraied (although had a Gambian blessing in January 2014).
.
I have been back there many times now since 2009 and I spend all my time living in the compound surrounded by the people that touch my heart and mean so much to me.
.
Amadou has never been here to visit me and one day I would love for that to happen but the way society is going now this is uncertain and we are both worried about our futures together we both don’t know when this will be, but what we both know is that we will wait for each other 3,000 mile apart because he is the only person I think about every day and who I want to spend my life with and I look at all the photos we have had together everyday wishing I was beside him.
.
Like all relationships we have had our ups and downs but we have lasted all this time and we will last forever because the love we have for each other is real and pure.
.
” I will wait for you Amadou and hope you will wait for me, and we will be together forever”
